Troubleshooting

LIMA is not responding to my voice

  1. Check that your microphone is connected and selected as the default recording device in Windows Sound Settings.
  2. Try increasing the Microphone sensitivity setting under Settings → Audio.
  3. Press Ctrl+Alt+U to make sure voice mode is active — the status indicator turns green when LIMA is listening.

LIMA activated but didn't understand my command

  • Speak clearly and at a normal pace.
  • Try rephrasing — LIMA understands natural language, so there's no single correct phrasing.
  • Check your internet connection. AI features require an active connection.

The screen description is inaccurate or incomplete

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+J to prompt LIMA to re-observe the screen.
  • Increase the DVS or DWN narration level in Settings → Features if you want more detail during video or web browsing.
  • If a specific application is consistently misread, contact support with the application name.

LIMA won't start after an update

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. If the issue persists, uninstall LIMA from Windows Settings → Apps, then reinstall from roscommon.systems/lima.
  3. Your settings are stored locally in the LIMA data folder. Back up data/config.json before reinstalling if you want to preserve your configuration.

Hotkeys are not working

  • Another application may be intercepting the key combination. Try changing the hotkey in Settings → Hot keys.
  • Check that LIMA is running (look for the LIMA icon in the system tray).

My license key was not accepted

  1. Check your internet connection — activation requires a connection to the Roscommon licensing server.
  2. Make sure you've copied the key exactly, including any dashes.
  3. If the problem persists, contact support with your key and the error message shown.

LIMA says my usage limit has been reached

LIMA plans include a monthly usage allowance. When you reach the limit, AI features will stop responding until the allowance resets at the start of the next month.

  • To continue immediately, upgrade your plan at roscommon.systems/lima.
  • To wait for the reset, the allowance renews automatically on your billing date each month.

If you believe the limit was reached in error, contact support.

LIMA won't open / a second window doesn't appear

Only one instance of LIMA can run at a time. If LIMA appears to be closed but won't reopen, it may still be running in the background.

  1. Look for the LIMA icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the taskbar). Click it to bring the window back.
  2. If it's not in the tray, open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), find LIMA in the list, and click End Task, then relaunch LIMA.
